Dr. Miriam Ortiz is the owner and chief consultant at Beyond the Research and has a Ph.D. in Education and Human Development. As a teacher she worked specifically with students who had emotional and behavioral disorders. Dr. Ortiz has taught courses and delivered professional development on the topics of the Science of Reading, Behavior Management and Intervention, Assessment, Program Evaluation, and Special Education. She has also been co-author on several peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters on the topic of reading instruction for students with varying disabilities, and assisted with the development and revision of several curriculums.
